Robin Welch is an English potter and painter born in 1936 still creating beauty at 80. He worked with Michael Leach at Leach Pottery in St. Ives, where he refined his skills for representation. Also known as lidless teapots or Chinese wine pots, they are filled from the bottom. Pour brewed tea or hot water into the funnel in the bottom of the teapot and invert. Liquid won’t leak out, because air traps it above the interior opening.
